Eco Friendly Ganesha making at home
Wishing U all a Happy Ganesh chaturthi,
The Lord Ganapathi symbolizes & Represents the nature and hence worshiping him with DRUVA pathra (which is simplest thing in the nature)pleases him immensely.
Keeping this in mind, I would like to share our traditional practice of celebrating this festival in much more satisfying way and close to the nature.
Instead of bringing the Ganapathi, we make the Idle at home from good quality clay which is collected from riverbed soil ( Poyate Matti) and after grating / sewing the clay free from stones etc
The Idle is decorated with ornaments which can be easily removable and reused.Colors are are not used at all. This lord is worshiped mainly with green leaves which in turn convey their medicinal importance.
Finally for the Visarjan too is carried out in a water container and the same water is used to for watering my plants. This way I call My Ganapthi is totally “Environment friendly” and await his visit every year to our home.
The main aim of this activity is to fulfill the following objectives and hence i would call this as “Eco Friendly Ganapathi”
1.Should be environment friendly
2.The material used should be recyclable and more so Bio degradable
3.Optimum uses of resources and energy.
During the festival time the colony friends visit with their children to our house and the children keep asking about the idle and that’s how their curiosity raises.I am happy to share with them and there by increasing the awareness and the importance of the nature we live- in..
We are the integral part of the Earth. So What ever is nature is giving us we are giving back to the nature.
Below you will see some snaps indicating the making of the Ganpathi and the Visarjan.
